Purpose

Our mission is to partner with families in raising a generation that glorifies God by making disciples.  Here at Calvary, we strive to introduce children to Christ in a safe and inviting environment, help them grow in their understanding of Him, and develop a deep burden for the lost.

Sunday Morning

Nursery (Birth – PreK)

Nursery is available for children birth through PreK during 9:00 a.m. Sunday school and during the 10:00 a.m. worship service.

Babies (Room 104)  A child enters the Babies Class whenever the parent is comfortable using childcare. (4-6 weeks old is a suggested age to begin using childcare). A child promotes out of the Babies Class when he/she is walking with stability.

Walkers (Room 102)  A child enters the Walkers-2’s Class when he/she is walking with stability. He/she is  promoted out of the Walkers-2’s Class when he/she turns 3 Years Old and is potty trained. We use the Babies/Toddlers Gospel Project lessons during the Sunday School hour.

3s-PreK (Upstairs)  A child enters the 3’s-PreK Class when he/she turns 3 Years Old and is potty trained. He/she is promoted out of the 3’s-PreK Class when they begin Kindergarten. This class begins in the upstairs Children’s area with older children, transitions to their classroom for a Bible Lesson (The Gospel Project- an initiative to help children understand how the truths of the Bible point to Jesus) during the Sunday School hour, and for activities and Bible teaching during the service time.

Sunday School (Kindergarten – Fifth Grade)

When children first arrive from 8:45 a.m. to 9 a.m., we gather together in the Multi-purpose room to connect and build relationships with one another. At 9 a.m., the children go to three different classes with their peers (K-1st, 2nd-3rd, 4th-5th). Our Sunday school teachers use the Gospel Project curriculum to help kids learn about how every story of the Bible points us to Jesus.

Calvary Kids- Sunday Edition (Kindergarten – Second Grade)

After we finish singing in the worship service (around 10:20 a.m.), our K-2nd graders meet the Calvary Kids volunteers in the connection center right outside of the sanctuary. We walk together up to the multipurpose room and  play a game, review our Sunday school lesson, eat a snack, and build relationships! Each of our activities are meant to help point us back to our Bible story. Our teachers do this by sharing a “story connection” point after each activity.

Calvary Kids- Wednesday Edition

(Three-Year-Olds – Fifth-Graders)

Our 3 year olds to 5th graders gather from 6 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. We use the Answers in Genesis curriculum which covers the entire Bible chronologically in four years. Throughout this curriculum, kids learn the Bible is Trustworthy, apologetical teaching, chronological and historical accuracy, about God’s redemptive plan, the attributes of God, and how to apply these truths to their own lives.   We gather as a large group and split into three smaller groups (3s-K, 1st-3rd, 4th-5th)

Childcare is also available for children under three years old in the Nursery area (Room 104). We use the Answers in Genesis curriculum for toddlers, where they will learn five important Biblical truths: God is Good (Psalm 119: 68), God is in Charge of Everything (Psalm 115:3), God made Everything (Genesis 1:1), God Wants Us to Pray (1 Thessalonians 5:17), and Jesus Came to Save Sinners (1 Timothy 1:15). These five biblical truths lead children to have a firm foundation as they transition into Calvary Kids- Wednesday Edition.
