What is AWANA?
AWANA is a ministry that teaches the Bible to children putting a special emphasis on Scripture memorization. The goal is to help the students store up the Scriptures in their hearts so that they may not sin against God (Psalm 119:11). AWANA knows that the most important teachers of children are their parents, and so is designed to get the parents involved in the children’s Bible intake. That’s why an important part of the program is the parents helping the students at home with their work. AWANA is a challenging but fun program for the children at our church that is sure to help raise the spiritual maturity of our kids.
Why is Calvary doing AWANA?
We believe in the core principles of AWANA. We want our children to have good knowledge of Bible stories and to memorize many life-changing verses of Scripture. We choose AWANA because it accomplishes both of these objectives and does so in a fun and exciting way. AWANA is a family ministry plan where the home can connect with the church in the instruction of our children. We can’t think of a better program to help enrich what families are already doing to foster the spiritual growth the youngsters in our church.
What will my children be doing while at AWANA?
The children will be involved in a program that will grow them spiritually, mentally, and physically. AWANA starts out with an opening ceremony where the children get to hang out and play a couple of games. The students will then break out into age appropriate groups for Bible lessons, workbook time, and games. These rotations are where the students get to learn Bible stories, work on their Scripture memorization, and have fun with games and exciting activities. After the rotations are over, the children will come back to the AWANA room for closing.
What time is AWANA?
